BENEFITING: INSTITUTE FOR MYELOMA AND BONE CANCER RESEARCH
EVENT: 2014 ASICS LA Marathon
EVENT DATE: Mar 09, 2014
I have served on the Board of the Institute for Myeloma and Bone Cancer Research in Los Angeles since February 2012 as a tribute to and in memory of my beloved father. The IMBCR has been selected as one of the chosen charities to receive donations as part of the LA Marathon. I am a member of TEAM IMBCR! Many of our team members, including our founder Dr. James Berenson, are running in the 2014 ASICS LA Marathon to raise awareness of multiple myeloma and funds to support our groundbreaking cancer research.
Dr. Berenson's approach and research allowed my father to battle multiple myeloma for 11 years while maintaining a high quality of life. I witnessed, firsthand, the devastating effects that multiple myeloma can have on a person's body and ultimately, life. My father's death, however, only strengthened my resolve to fight this disease and raising funds to support the Institute's research is a way for me to contribute to my father's dream that a cure for this cancer will be discovered. Dr. Berenson and his team work tirelessly to prolong the lives of patients with multiple myeloma while researching new therapies and markers aimed at finding a cure for this cancer. I wholeheartedly support Dr. Berenson and the Institute for Myeloma and Bone Cancer Research.
Thank you so much for your support. May my beloved father's memory be eternal.
