2014 Mission to India!
Organized by: Jermaine Middleton
EVENT DATE Oct 16, 2014
About 4 years ago I started volunteering as a small group leader with high school students at my church. It was in that environment that I really discovered just how passionate I was about serving others and being involved with youth. Of course working with middle school and high school students has its challenges but it is always rewarding. Knowing that I have an impact on their lives, and being able to share importance of a relationship with Jesus Christ is what motivates me. Whether I’m playing the role of a mentor, a spiritual leader, an older brother, or just a friend, I try to be as involved as I can. In our youth church one of our mottos is, “do for the few what you wish you could do for the many.” I know that I can’t change the world on my own, but I definitely want to do my part.
2014 is going to be an awesome year! Why? Because I’m going on a short term mission trip to Vellore, India! My team will be spending 9 days in Vellore. This will be my first international mission trip. Traveling to the other side of the world to serve others and share the love of Christ is truly a dream come true.
In India we will be responsible for repairs on the children’s and spending time in fellowship with the children and our host missionaries. We'll be conducting a VBS or more than 100 kids between the ages of 8 and 18. Did you know that out of the 1.2 billion people living in India there are only about 24 million Christians? There are hundreds of millions of people living in poverty. There are also millions of children who have lost a parent or are orphans. My personal mission for this trip is to serve in any way that I can and to have a positive impact on the people I encounter.
Please prayerfully consider donating to help support the funding of my trip. All donations, no matter how small, are greatly appreciated!
