BENEFITING: Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition
ORGANIZER: Southeast Immigrant Rights Network
EVENT DATE: Jul 14, 2014
The Southeast Immigrant Rights Network (SEIRN) is holding its annual conference on August 15-17 in Montgomery, Alabama. SEIRN has been a proud supporter of the amazing grassroots organizers who fought against Alabama’s HB 56 and continue to work hard to strengthen the immigrant-led struggle for immigrant rights. That’s why we are so thrilled to hold this year’s conference in Montgomery and to bring equally fierce immigrant leaders and allies from across the region together for three days of skills building, networking and strategizing around how to build a stronger movement for dignity and human rights in the South.
The SEIRN Conference is a powerful gathering, one of the few spaces where grassroots immigrant leaders come to the table as equal partners with other immigrant rights activists, advocates and allies. But organizing this kind of space is quite expensive. In order to ensure this level of grassroots participation we need a team of interpreters and a team of childcare providers for all three days. We also need to offer registration/travel/lodging scholarships to grassroots leaders who would otherwise not be able to participate.
We need to raise $3,000 by July 23 to help us cover some of these expenses. Will you make a gift now to support SEIRN’s 2014 Conference today?
· A $35 gift covers the registration fee of 1 grassroots leader
· A $50 gift provides 1 hour of simultaneous interpretation at the conference
· A $100 gift pays for 1 day of childcare for 3 children
· A $250 gift helps pay travel expenses for 1 grassroots group
· A $500 gift covers registration and lodging for 4 grassroots leaders
Thank you for your support!
