2015 Sierra Leone Empowerment Network (SLEN) Conference
Organized by: SierraLeone EmpowermentNetwork
EVENT DATE Aug 15, 2015
The Sierra Leonean Empowerment Network (SLEN) is an organization of professionals that aims to build a sustainable network through mentoring, knowledge sharing and networking among Sierra Leoneans of diverse socio-economic and professional backgrounds. SLEN was launched in July 2013, with a vision to establish a conglomerate of professional initiatives for professional growth and development within the global Sierra Leonean community.
We currently have a network of over 400 individuals in our database. We have 50 active career mentors and mentees involved in our career mentorship program both in the United States and Sierra Leone. The career mentorship program creates a platform for Sierra Leoneans seeking and/or wishing to provide mentorship for professional growth and development. We also host events that focus solely on promoting professional networking amongst Sierra Leoneans. Through these networking events, we are fostering information sharing, enhancing professional networks, and aiding professional development. As such, it is our goal to create and maintain a sustainable professional networking platform that will benefit Sierra Leoneans worldwide.
Continuing our path of professional empowerment, we are very pleased to announce our 2nd, annual Sierra Leonean Empowerment Network Conference. This conference will greatly help foster a culture of actively engaged Sierra Leoneans motivated to advance professionally and inspire others to succeed. The date for the conference is Saturday, August 15th 2015 at The Catholic University in Washington, DC. The focus and theme of the conference will be The Next Level.
Our goals include engaging over 150+ professionals from across the country for a full day, must-attend networking and enriching conference. Participants will engage in active discussions that will help lay out the path to get Sierra Leone to the Next Level and participants to the Next Level in their exciting career. At the conference, you will add to your network and hear innovative ideas. You will leave the conference feeling excited, inspired, and empowered!
