Creativity is the key to success in this event as participants raise money by launching letter writing and email campaigns in search of support from their families, friends and business associates or by recruiting corporate sponsors – all to help them compete for the titles of Top Dog and Top Cat. Participants may also raise funds by throwing private parties.
Judged solely on a philanthropic basis, the two winning participants (one dog and one cat) are those who raise the most money (each dollar counts as one vote) for Brown Dog Foundation. For ten weeks, the participants will work hard to earn votes.
Participants are encouraged to recruit a campaign manager and additional “staff” to assist with their campaign. And, our Event Committee is available to assist you in reaching your goal throughout the entire campaign. They can help you construct letters, reproduce letters, address and stamp letters or invitations, or help you plan a party at your home.
The Official Campaign period is July 15th-September 23rd. Throughout the ten-week campaign, participants will use letter-writing, email campaigns and even their party-planning skills to raise money for Brown Dog Foundation’s Emergency Pet Fund. Participants will be assigned to one of the Campaign Committee Members who will provide ongoing encouragement, campaign support and information about the organization to help ensure everyone’s success.
