BENEFITING: Call of Duty Endowment
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR CAUSE
In March 2015, I received a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: A lottery slot to participate in the 2015 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii where some of the best athletes in the world will compete in one of the most grueling courses in the Ironman series. I am proud to be sponsored by the Call of Duty Endowment and to be able to use this opportunity to raise awareness and funding to combat Veteran unemployment.
Young Veterans face an unemployment rate nearly three times the national average. The Call of Duty Endowment supports best-in-class non-profit organizations that help Veterans find meaningful employment after leaving the armed forces. Their current goal is to place 25,000 Veterans in jobs by the end of 2018.
In connection with my Ironman training and the event in October, I'm setting a goal of raising $25,000; that's a dollar for every high-quality job that the endowment will help find a Veteran to fill. Not only can you follow my daily training routine and event day experience, but you'll be able to watch as we reach our fundraising goal and hopefully surpass it! Please donate today and share this link to help support those who have served our country and deserve a fresh start!
