BENEFITING: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: TEAM IMF
EVENT DATE: Nov 15, 2015
Many of you know that I adopted a young man named William when he was 10 years old. Now 3 years later I am looking to thank a community that has helped show our family that you can finish anything you put your mind and body too. This community is the Ironman Foundation (IMF). I will be racing with Team IMF in the Arizona Ironman 2015. This organization has given our family an opportunity to race together and finish together. We have sometimes struggled to find sports and groups that can provide support for our high needs family. William, his cousins, aunts, uncles, nana and papa have all been able to cross the finish line together and there is no better feeling of accomplishment then crossing that line! So I ask you today to Donate to my IMF Team. I have a goal of $3,000.00.
I have a lot of work ahead of me to be ready come November. Some of my biggest challenges will be:
1. Nutrition - I have an issue with donuts.
2. Health - Need to keep the back and knees feeling good.
3. "THE BIKE" - The scariest of the 3 events.
Over the next several months I will be increasing my training from 8-10 hours a week to 12-14 hours. Please feel free to join me for a 3:30 am workout or a Sunday 50 mile ride. All your support is appreciated! Happy Training!
Ironman in Training
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community.
Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly
twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
