Oppo Taco 17 hour 140.6 Challenge
On November 15th, 2015 I will compete in my 8th full distance Ironman triathlon in exactly a 4 year period. The main thing that continues to drive me to the start line is the hope that I can continue to inspire family members and friends to remain active and living a healthy lifestyle.
In baseball, crunching an Oppo Taco is about hitting a home run to the opposite field. In Ironman, an athlete has 17 hours to complete a 140.6 mile journey. That said, in an effort to combine the two sports that have greatly influenced my life, I would like to send the physical challenge that I endure during an Ironman race in the opposite direction, right back at you!
Beginning today and ending at midnight on November 15th, complete 17 hours of exercise and/or 140.6 miles. If you complete the challenge and donate a minimum of $50 to the Ironman Foundation (description below) you will receive a kick ass "Oppo Taco 17 Hour 140.6 Challenge" tee shirt. Swim, bike, run, hike, walk or do anything else that gets you rocking and rolling. Keep a training log and watch the time and/or miles click away. The Oppo Taco himself put his money where his meat is and kicked off the campaign with a $3,000 donation!
START LINE is HERE: Donate $50 and the Oppo Taco 17 hour 140.6 challenge is ON!!! Lets do this... EB
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community.
Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
