BENEFITING: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: TEAM IMF
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
I am pleased to announce that this year I will be competing in Ironman Chattanooga on September 27, 2015. An IRONMAN event is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. It is typically regarded as the most challenging endurance event in the world. Completing an IRONMAN event is an exciting experience and will require months of preparation and training.
I have decided to do something different this year for my Ironman race. Instead of just paying the entry fee and racing, I wanted to help give back to the community. The Ironman Foundation will distribute money raised via grant funding to initiatives and groups in the greater Chattanooga, Tennessee community.
I am returning to Chattanooga again this year to compete in my fourth Ironman. I have seen first-hand how much the local communities reach out to help the athletes, both during the long training season and on race day. I want to be part of the initiative to give back and to thank those who have made it possible for me to achieve dreams I never thought obtainable.
With such a big personal commitment ahead of me, I have decided to make this IRONMAN journey more than just about me. I have partnered with The IRONMAN Foundation and committed to fundraise at least $3,000 for their Community Fund. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
I can’t do this alone and I need your help.
I will be sure to keep you updated on my fundraising and training progress. I thank you, in advance, for your support and appreciate your generosity.
