EVENT: TEAM IMF
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
I recently had surgery on my left thumb to re-attach an extensor tendon on my left thumb, i sliced through the extensor tendon as I was working on a bike part and the knife slipped. I was origionally set to raise the full 3,000 myself but with this set back its going to be a lot tougher since I will be out of work for the next few weeks. Because of this any help anyone can give will go a long way, even $10 here and $10 there wioll go a long way in helping me get to the starting line.
I am excited to be racing in my second Ironman race. During my first race I saw a lot of the other racers who were racing in part to race awareness and support certain causes and I thought how cool it would to be a part of something bigger, helping those in need.
I have always enjoyed swimming since I was a young kid, was always a good biker (but never at the distance an Ironman requires), and an alright runner. I am always trying to improve on all of those and look forward to the hard work and dedication that this will be having me do in order to complete my second Ironman.
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community.
Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
