Thank you for visiting my fundraiser page.
I want to tell you a little about myself and how I got hooked on this beautiful sport.
Back in 2011 my 11 year old daughter Karla ,wanted to run a half Marathon, my wife and 2 sons/ daughter in law were trainning to run it too. I was 210 lbs, and out of shape, 40 lbs overweight and probably 10-12 years since the last time I did any real exercise. So I felt ashamed that my daughter was willing and highly motivated to do the hard trainning while I was going to be an spectator. So I told her that I wanted to do it with her, together.
The first weeks of trainning were very hard, I could barely run one block without stopping, but the smile on my daughter's face and the time we spent together getting ready for the race was so precious and unforgettable that it made it all worth it, and after 10 weeks of trainning, we finished the race.
Today,I am pleased to announce that this year I will be competing in on An Ironman, this event is a Triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run.It is typically regarded as the most challenging endurance event in the world. Completing an IRONMAN event should be an exciting experience and will require months of preparation and trainning.
With such a big personal commitment ahead of me, I have decided to make this IRONMAN journey, more than just about me. I have partnered with the IRONMAN Foundation and commited to fundraise at least $ 3,000 for their Community Fund.
I can't do this alone and I need your help.
Please help me reach my goal by making a donation.
I thank you in advance for your support and appreciate your generosity,
THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations
that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community. Within those communities,
The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly
twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
