BENEFITING: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: TEAM IMF
EVENT DATE: Nov 07, 2015
Thanks for checking out my 2015 Ironman Florida fundraising page. Special thanks to those who decide to support me in this endeavor.
As many of you know, I have been a runner since I was about 15 years old. Along the way these past 35+ years, I have competed in numerous races including 14 full distance 26.2 mile marathons, several duathlons (bike/run), and several triathlons (swim/bike/run). The longest such triathlon I've ever completed was the Austin Half Ironman in 2011. Covering the required distances of 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run was a humbling and powerful experience, especially in the record heat of that day in Austin.
Now, after all these years, all those miles, and in my 50s, I decided to sign up for 2015 Ironman Florida, Panama City Beach, Florida. The race will be held on Saturday, November 7th, and will cover the full Ironman distance of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run.
Instead of just paying to sign up, I decided to pledge to raise at least $3,000 for the Team Ironman Foundation (TEAM IMF), a charitable entity. An explanation of Team IMF's charitable focus is noted below.
In support of my participation in 2015 Ironman Florida, I sincerely appreciate any donation you can provide to TEAM IMF. Your support will give me all the strength I need to finish this race.

All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community.
Within those communities, the IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly twenty-nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
