BENEFITING: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT: TEAM IMF
EVENT DATE: May 16, 2015
On May 16, 2015 I will be competing in IRONMAN Texas! This will be my 2nd IRONMAN event. For those of you unfamiliar with an IRONMAN event, it is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run. It is typically regarded as the most challenging endurance event in the world. Completing an IRONMAN event is an amazing experience and requires months of preparation and training. With such a big personal commitment ahead of me, i have decided to make this IRONMAN journey more than just about me. I have partnered with the IRONMAN Foundation and have committed to raise at least $3000.00 for their Community Fund.
I can't do this alone - I need your help!!
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations
that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community. Within those communities,
The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly
twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
Please consider joining me in this great adventure and donate to the IRONMAN Foundation and help me in my journey to raise $3000.00. All donations are tax deductible and go towards a great cause! $25, $50, $100 or $200 or more - its up to you.
Why IRONMAN people ask me. I started doing triathlons in 1999. The day i finished my first triathlon, the MIghty Might Triathlon in Forest City, AR, I felt like Superman! I set a goal and accomplished it. Everyone there cheered for all participants. When you finished everyone said great job, shook your hand, high fives, it was awesome. I was hooked, and have never looked back. Never dreamed i would fathom the idea of participating in an IRONMAN event, much less be able to finish one. But in April 2007 i finished IRONMAN Arizona! Other than marrying my wonderful wife Lisa, the birth of my awesome children, it was the most amazing experience of my life! It was tough. But the closer I got to the finish line, the more excited i became, then hearing Mike Reilly's voice and hearing him say "You are an IRONMAN" was absolutely incredible!! Its addicting and so want to hear it again!!
Truly could not do all this will out strength and endurance from the LORD! I give Him all the credit and the glory and pray that He will help me cross the finish line again. Also, couldn't do it with out the support of my wife Lisa!!
Thanks for you time and consideration!! God Bless
