BENEFITING: Brigham and Women's Hospital
ORGANIZER: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2015
My Dad and our family have formed the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer's Fund to support the amazing work being done at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease.
LIke many of you, our family has been affected by this disease. My Mom has suffered from Alzheimer's for over a decade and and the sadness and helplessness we have felt simply cannot be put into words. Fortunately a lot of terrific work has been done by the Dr. Selkoe and Dr. Sperling at BWH, as well as many others around the world and we are very optimistic that NOW IS THE TIME to find not only treatment but prevention for this horrific disease.
On October 4th, there are 60+ friends and family of my Mom, Josephine Marr, participating in the Maine Marathon by running either the 1/2 marathon or a Marathon Relay. I will be running on Team Pretty Penie with two of my cousins, Dan and Stephen Riley and my niece Olivia Marr.
Thank you for supporting my run and contributing to this very important cause. No donation is too small as we are working to create awareness as much as provide financial support. It is critical that we find treatments and prevention to stop this terrible disease. Together we can make a difference
