BENEFITING: Brigham and Women's Hospital
ORGANIZER: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2015
I am running the Maine Marathon on October 4 to support the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer’s Research Fund at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. As most of you know, Josephine and John Marr are my truly inspirational and amazing grandparents. My grandfather is the primary caregiver for my grandmother, who is unfortunately in the late stages of this terrible disease. Recently established by my grandfather and the entire Marr family, the Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer's Research Fund at BWH supports a visionary Alzheimer’s research initiative aimed at ultimately preventing the disease.
More than five million Americans are courageously fighting Alzheimer’s disease. But progress is being made every day. We are fortunate to have one of the leading Alzheimer Centers in the country here in New England at BWH—where two world-renowned researchers, Drs. Dennis Selkoe and Reisa Sperling are leading and pioneering innovative approaches to advance the prevention and treatment of this horrible disease.
Thank you for supporting my run and contributing to this very important cause. Together we can make a difference —now and for future generations.
