ORGANIZER: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT DATE: Oct 04, 2015
On October 4th, The Honan family will be participating in the Maine Marathon to support Josephine and John Marr Alzheimer's Research Fund at BWH. Our Aunt Josephine, who many of the Honan's know as "Pretty Penie", has been battling this disease for over a decade now. Her husband, and caretaker, John Marr, has established this fund to support a visionary Alzheimer’s research initiative aimed at ultimately preventing the disease. Nellie Honan will be running the Maine Half Marathon and Maura Honan, Tommy Honan, Ellen Honan & Dick Curry will be running the Maine Marathon relay to support "Pretty Penie".
More than five million Americans are courageously fighting Alzheimer’s disease. But progress is being made every day. We are fortunate to have one of the leading Alzheimer Centers in the country here in New England at BWH—where two world-renowned researchers, Drs. Dennis Selkoe and Reisa Sperling are leading and pioneering innovative approaches to advance the prevention and treatment of this horrible disease.
Thank you for supporting our run and contributing to this very important cause. Together we can make a difference —now and for future generations.
