On October 3rd 2015, I will be competing in my first ever Full Ironman. In my endevours to reach my own goals, I have decided to raise money and race for the Ironman Foundation. This is a great way to give back to the communities that will help me achieve my personal goals. In addition, it is extra incentive for me to continue to train and compete!
Please donate to the Ironman Foundation to support the community and my personal goal!
All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community.
Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of nearly twenty nine million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide.
Here are a couple of highlights of the foundation:
-There are 51 communities in North America that receive IRONMAN Foundation grant funding
-The average grant size donated to local nonprofit organizations at an event - $1,217
-The Range of grant sizes provided to nonprofit groups to support major community initiatives
- $1.2 million - Grant funding provided to race communities throughout 2014
- $13.5 million - Grant funding provided to local race communities since the inception of the Community Fund Program
In 2014, The Foundation provided grant funding to a broad range of nearly 1,000 organizations located in or near the IRONMAN race communities.
