BENEFITING: Clinica Verde
Birthdays are about sharing - whether cake, company, gifts, or other celebrations. I grew up sharing birthday parties with my sister Shalini and, while we may have outgrown that tradition (and parties), we haven't outgrown sharing.
For me, birthdays have evolved into a time of reflection and sharing through service. Last year, I invited all of you to join me in my annual birthday sharing tradition by participating in your own act of service or donating to a cause near to your or my heart. I was overwhelmed by the response and stories you all shared.
This year, I once again invite you to join me in this tradition. In lieu of any gifts, cards, or celebrations, I'm asking that you join me in supporting an organization that is very near and dear to me - Clinica Verde (www.clinicaverde.org).
Clinica Verde runs a health clinic and provides essential health services for the underserved region of Boaco, Nicaragua, with a focus on maternal and infant care. For the majority of residents in Boaco, affordable and accessible healthcare services are limited. Clínica Verde provides women’s health care, pediatric care, urgent care, and preventive health education programs, among other services, and it does so in a loving, compassionate manner in a clinic that was designed to improve health outcomes.
I hope you'll join me again in sharing on my birthday this year and in supporting Clinica Verde!
