2016 Emory Youth Theological Initiative camp
Organized by: Peter White
Greeting Visitors, I am Peter White, Jr., a Junior at the Greene County High School and I have been selected to attend the 2016 Youth Summer Academy of the Youth Theological Initiative. I am one of thirty-five high school students from across the country and around the world selected to participate in this exciting program of theological exploration on the Emory University campus in Atlanta, Georgia. YTI is an intensive and exclusive three-week commitment from June 26, 2016 through July 16, 2016. During this program of study we will have ample opportunity to worship, study Christian theology and social Justice. Then we will engage in service projects around Atlanta and create an intentional residential community committed to exploring ways in which theological reflection can benefit the church and world. The full cost of this program per student is $6000. I am thankful to be 73% complete in covering the cost of tuition and books for the YTI Summer Academy. Today, I am just 27% ($1500.00) away from accomplishing my goal of attending the 2016 Initiative. I want you to know that raising the money to cover my remaining cost is critically important to reserving my place in the program. I am asking for your support because I believe this program can make a difference in my life through visible and practical ways. I believe I must be made different in order to make a difference in my community. During this summer experience I solicit your ongoing prayers and after the summer experience I welcome the opportunity to give return on your investment by sharing what I have learned with the greater community. Now, I ask you to consider what you can do to help me make a difference. I am asking for a hand up and not a hand out and I am willing to contribute fair sweat equity for your investment/donation. Please know that all contributions are welcomed and greatly appreciated. I just want to say “Thank You” in advance for your kindness and support. Sincerely, Peter White, Jr. Thanks Peter White Jr.
