BENEFITING: The King's College
The House of C.S Lewis has had a fantastic year. We welcomed a group of 15 solid men who I know hold a bright future for the House. We upheld the tradition of dominating the Basketball Competition with absolute blowouts in every game. We have held our own in the House Cup, lagging only 30 points behind first place with the approach of what is sure to be a promising Interregnum. We even have been having great engagement with Lewis Fellowship, our weekly Bible study and men’s group, and the New York C.S. Lewis Society.
This year, the House has also been thriving in the pursuit of our Values--wisdom, discipleship, fellowship, and service. Like our namesake, the men of Lewis are trying to be “men with chests,” where we embody these four values as a community in our pursuit of Christ’s Lordship in all things. One of my proudest moments of the House this year was when we honorably accepted 10th place in the Drama Competition for a performance that we were pleased with and one that brought the respect, and tears, of others at King’s. In that moment, the House truly displayed what it means to be Men of Lewis.
As we continue to seek our values, and hopefully victories, we need your help.
Last year our house traveled to Eastern Pennsylvania for a House Retreat. This opportunity allowed us to foster a stronger community through late night discussions, copious amounts of bacon, and fun in the snow. The Christian summer camp we stayed at also gave us an opportunity to give back by demolishing a set of bathrooms in order to update them for the children that stay during summer. The men of Lewis were happy to serve a group that seeks the good of so many others (while also having a bit of fun ourselves as we ripped out toilets and floor planks).
This year, we are planning to return the same camp in Pennsylvania. This trip will provide a time to recuperate and serve together as we look forward to Interregnum, finals, and commencement.
We appreciate any financial support that you can lend for this trip. Please support us with a gift of $10, $20, $50, or if you're able $100 or more. Your support helps us to afford a place to stay, food, and transportation so that we can bond as a house and create friendships for life.

P.S. If you want to learn more about the House System and the impact it makes in the lives of students feel free to respond. The House System is the primary way that King's students form friendships, gain mentors, and find spiritual guidance. I'm more than happy to tell you my own story and share stories of other current students. Thank you for your support.
