2016 No Shave November
Benefitting the Rutledge Foundation in honor of Sam Day
No Shave November, or "Movember," is a yearly event to draw attention to various cancers. It originated as an event to focus on men's health, particularly prostate cancer. As it has evolved, the essential focus was to direct funds usually used for grooming, such as shaving, to worthy charities benefitting cancer and cancer research. Last year, the Police Bureau coordinated by precinct and designated several worthy charities. Thousands of dollars were raised to benefit those organizations. This year, in honor of Captain Bob Day's son Sam, the Bureau will join in a collaborative effort to raise funds for research and awareness to defeat Ewing's Sarcoma. These donations will be made to The Rutledge Foundation.
