This year I celebrate my 10th PMC!! It seems like just yesterday it was 2007 and I was lining up in Sturbridge with my buddy Chris for my first PMC, not knowing what it actually took to ride 190 miles in 2 days. Boy did I find out quick! The past 9 rides have been more rewarding each and every year, and I look to make this one the best so far as I set a personal challenge to do 10 for 10: raise $10,000 for 10 years. It will be a big challenge as the most I have raised is $7500 in one year.
So, I will be planning some fund-raising events through out the year and I hope that you all can participate on some level outside of the generous donations you have given in the past. I can't thank you all enough for supporting me these past 10 years, and I thank you in advance in helping me reach my goal of $10,000 this year.
For a little background on my story, in December of 2004, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It was a challenging time physically, emotionally, and financially. I was very fortunate that I made it through that difficult time, due to the unbelievable care that was given to me at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Brigham Womens Hospital. Now, over 11 years later, I feel great and I cherish every day that I get to spend with my wife Michele and my two girls Madison and Meaghan.
This year I am dedicating my ride to my love, my rock, my everything, my wife Michele. 10 years of getting up early to drop me off for both days. 10 years of drivng from start to finish with the girls. 10 years of packing, unpacking the truck. 10 years of waiting at the finish no matter what the weather. 10 years of giving her all so I can complete this challenge and not one complaint. She loves this ride as much as I do and I can't thank her enough. Love you with everythig I got, this one is for you Mumma!
Last year, I raised just over $7,100! This brings my 9 yr total to over $52,000!
If there is anyone you would like me to ride for who may have lost their battle or who is battling cancer right now, please let me know and I will add their name to my shirt.
Please forward my site to others in your family and friends who may want to help out. I appreciate your kindness and generosity.
Remember, each year we get closer by the mile.
