Help us raise funds to support the YMCA's Detroit Swims program, teaching EVERY child in the City of Detroit to swim!
Our goal: teach 1,500 kids from the City of Detroit to swim each and every year!
$100 will give one child eight swim lessons, a swimsuit, and a lifetime of confidence and safety in the water.
MICSA swim team clubs are competing against each other - the team that raises the most support wins the 2015 Corsan Challenge award and a clinic conducted by Olympic Gold Medalist Peter Vanderkaay!
Who is George Corsan? He's kind of a big deal... ask Google! He's a Y staff member who developed the first formalized group swim lessons in Detroit in 1909.
We only have 30 days to reach our goal. Last year we were able to scholarship 200 kids through the challenge, and this year we think we can scholarship 200 more!
The competition ends June 30th at 11:59 PM EST, with the winning team receiving a clinic from Peter Vanderkaay. The award will be presented at the final day of the Championship Meet! The second place prize is TBD. Thank you MICSA clubs for your continued support of Detroit Swims!
