BENEFITING: Y BICYCLE ASSOCIATION
Final Competition and scholarship award is February 20, 2016. Each of the High School students competing in this year's final competition has submitted a creative bicycle design or bicycle accessory substantiated with principles derived from science, technology, engineering or math or a combination of category principles. These students were only notified of the competition in late September and demonstrated perseverance and dedication to complete their project by the submission deadline of November 30, 2015. The high school's staff communicated the opportunity to the students but it was the student's initiative to compete for this year's scholarship. The high school students competing in this year's Mid-Atlantic High School Bicycle Design STEM Competition are from three high schools in the region: Strath Haven High School in Wallingford PA., Roxborough High School, Academy of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. and St. Georges Technical High School in Middletown, DE. It is our objective to encourage and support these high school students' commitment to their education and career development. Hard work should be rewarded and encouraged. The annual competition is open to all in grades 9-12. We want to motivate future contestants to enter and win so we may expand our scholarship program and benefit many enthusiastic students. 2017 Bicycle Design entry is due December 2, 2016 for final competition third weekend in February 2017.
