Benefiting City of Hope
Hosted by Michael Morris
Friday November 4, 2016
9am – 2pm (Lunch Provided)
Last year’s EPIC debuted the Inaugural Hike for Hope, and some 35 hikers challenged themselves to hike Red Rock Canyon while raising more than $10,000 for City of Hope! Well, I’m pleased to say that it is back again for 2016 – this time in Tennessee! The 2nd Annual Hike for Hope, again hosted by TriMega’s Michael Morris, will take place at the conclusion of EPIC 2016 and participants will take in challenging and exciting hiking in the picturesque Warner Parks, just outside of Nashville.
The Hike for Hope is a wonderful opportunity to take in beautiful landscapes and natural surroundings while having fun with your fellow EPIC friends, enjoying some adventure and physical activity and making a difference to support an incredible cause, City of Hope!
There’s a Hike for Everyone! Decide your trail now…or decide later!
EASY to MODERATE – Warner Woods Trail
2.5 mile loop. 1 hour. 285 ft gain
Also known as the white trail due to its identifying white blazes, this 2.5 mile trail is a great hike that covers moderate elevation changes. The entire trail is in the heavily wooded interior of the Park, and about a third of the trail is in one of the Park’s most secluded regions. Also, hikers can experience a breathtaking view from the cleared knob of Luke Lea Heights at an elevation of 922 feet by walking down a paved road that the trail crosses.
MODERATE to DIFFICULT – Mossy Ridge Trail
4.5 mile loop. 2.5 hours. 600 ft gain
The Mossy Ridge Trail in Percy Warner Park is a 4.5 mile loop encompassing more than 13 million square feet. It is rated moderate in difficulty with some steep rocky slopes to climb. You will encounter rocky ridges, quiet hollows, a small waterfall, streams and wooded hills. Hiking the trail will offer the opportunity to see the wide varieties of wildlife and wildflowers making their home in the park.
