I'm doing it AGAIN! Yes, for all of you that believe I'm nuts you are correct. In 2012 I trained for and completed my first full Ironman distance; 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a short 26.2 mile run for a total of 140.6 miles.
My goal in 2012 was two fold. First, I wanted to see how far I could push my limits and Second, I made a commitment to fund raise for a local Northern California organization called CHDC (California Human Development Corp). They provide job training, housing and treatment for men and women that need a "hand up" not a "hand out". With the help of many friends and family we raised $10,750.
For 2016 my goals are similar with a minor change. First I'm doing this event to raise funds for several community non-profit organization by teaming up with The IRONMAN Foundation aka Team IMF. All of the money raised will be reinvested into local Sonoma County non-profit organizations. My goal, with your help, is to raise a minimum of $10,000.
I also add a little fun to the fundraising by offering several prizes. For every $25.00 you donate your name will be placed into a drawing. For example, if you donate $250 your name will be added ten (10) times into the drawing. Here is a partial list of prizes:
Names drawn in the following order:
1) Tablet of your choice (Up to $700)
2) Smart Phone of your choice (Up to $400)
3) Gas Gift Card $250
4) REI Gift Card $200
5) REI Gift Card $150
6) REI Gift Card $100
7) Your choice Gift Card $75
8) Your choice Gift Card $50
9) Your choice Gift Card $20
10) Your choice Gift Card $20
The second reason I'm doing this is, as crazy as this may sound, it is a great motivator in my life. I enjoy the training and the breakthroughs I experience during the process. It's THRIVING! When I set goals like this in my life the cross over benefits are amazing. My body, soul and spirit grow in amazing ways.
