The Mercer-Zimmerman Dirty Dash started in 2014 as a way to promote wellness among our employees and their families. Organizers felt this could also be an opportunity to give back through fundraising. Participants are divided into teams who compete for bragging rights, the coveted team plaque (and some pretty nifty team prizes). They earn points based on their performance in the race, combined with pre-race team training and fundraising efforts. Though it is not a primary focus of the event, we are proud to share that more than $7000 was collected for local and national charitable organizations through Dirty Dash 2015.
Each Dirty Dash team has selected a charity that is near and dear to their hearts. All are awesome organizations pursuing very worthy causes. Though there is some friendly competition between the teams, a donation to any of these organizations is a win. The team charities this year are:
We would greatly appreciate your support. All donations are tax deductible.
Note: We have engaged with Crowdrise (www.crowdrise.com) to handle administration of online donations. They do a great job of collecting and distributing the funds to the charities, generating and sending tax receipts to donors and keeping tabs on how each team is doing with their fundraising efforts. Crowdrise does charge a fee for that service which equates to a small percentage of the donation and a credit card fee. You are given the opportunity to cover those administrative costs when you make your donations, ensuring that the charity receives the full amount you intended to donate. This is purely optional.
