What is the purpose for the "Ride for the Living"?
Ride For the Living is an annual fundraising event under the patronage of Chief Rabbi of Poland, Michael Schudrich. The 55-mile bicycle ride from Auschwitz-Birkenau to JCC Krakow is a journey to not only remember Jewish history, but to celebrate and support the miraculous rebirth of Jewish life in Poland today.
For me, the bike ride will celebrates my ancestral roots from Krakow Poland, honor the lives of my survivor parents and maternal grandmother, while memorializes the remainder of my family and all those known and unknown that perished in the shoah.
Who Does Ride for the Living Help?
JCC Krakow provides a home for all generations including a Senior Club (with over 80 Holocaust survivors), Gimel - the Jewish Student Club, Sunday School and nursery, and Club Bet for adults. It is a warm and inviting gathering place for so many people
