BENEFITING: YMCA of Greater New York
2016 West Side Y Racquetball Tournament
For the past 7 years, the racquetball team has been raising funds for the West Side YMCA's Annual Campaign. This year our goal is to raise $20,000 to support free and subsidized YMCA programs.
The tournament serves two purposes:
1. To get players together, on all levels, competing in an organized fashion, having fun and seeing who will dominate in their divisions.
Each year, OPEN players compete for the title of Top Player and a spot on our esteemed plaque.
2. To raise money for the adults and kids in our community who are in need. The Annual Campaign provides scholarships for individuals to participate in activities at the Y who otherwise could not afford to. It allows people in need to take art classes, acting classes, maintain gym memberships, attend summer camp, and so much more.
In 2014, the racquetball community raised $15,000 through donations and tournament participation. This year we have set a lofty goal to raise $20,000.
Again this year, the tournament directors' goal is 100% participation from racquetball players. No donation is too small. With your support, our community will have a stronger voice at the Y, while helping others less fortunate than ourselves.
