FORCED OUT OF RETIREMENT.....BUT FOR GOOD REASON
At 82 years old, I thought my basketball shooting days were over but things have a way of changing.
The Carmel Rotary Club has named me honoree of the 2017 Basketball Shootout. I am dedicating this special honor to my brother Tom who passed away recently. He introduced me to Rotary 54 years ago. I learned quickly by his example what Rotary was all about, “Service above Self”.
On March 4th, I'm heading back to the court and shooting baskets - again, and hope you will support my efforts. I am shooting to raise funds to fight two dreaded diseases - Alzheimers and Cancer. Both have hit my family and dear friends very hard. I hope you will join me by supporting my efforts. If you care to donate to one or both of my causes, you can do so on this Crowdrise site or send a check payable to C armel Rotary Foundation to me: Al Lotrecchiano, 17 North Gate Road, Carmel, NY 10512. Please specify – Alzheimers Association or American Cancer Society.
I'll let you know how I make out - if I survive
