Thanks for visiting my donation page for the 2017 Cape Cod Bay Challenge. Our 10th Anniversary. 2017 has been a trying year. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to paddle, my head and body haven't cooperated much and I feel a bit broken down. We bought a new house, and work is very, very, busy. Training time has been scarce. Thankfully Mike and I are teaming up and doing it as a relay this year so i should be good for it. The purpose of the event is to raise money for a wonderful non-profit organization called Christopher’s Haven. Christopher’s Haven provides housing to children (and their families) who come to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for a certain type of pediatric cancer treatment. The treatment lasts 6-8 weeks, sometimes more, and the burden of finding housing for that period of time in Boston can be financially and emotionally overwhelming. Christopher's Haven is located right next to the hospital, where seven large and completely furnished apartments and a community space are available to families who travel from out of state or outside the country for daily outpatient treatments. It's amazing to see what the event has grown into from the original crossing. This year we approach raising $1,000,000 for CH. That represents helping 200 kids and their families through one of the toughest times you can imagine. A dedicated crew plan for months pulling together all the things that make it work. This is a truly one of a kind event, and the after party at Mayo Beach in Wellfleet is not to be missed. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! I'd love to see friends and family all at the beach when we come in to join in the celebration. If you want to join the awesome party after make sure that you get some tickets to the event.
