Big City Mountaineers instills critical life skills in under-resourced urban youth through wildness mentoring expeditions. BCM strengthens young people by developing integrity, responsibility, decision-making and conflict resolution skills in more than 1,000 young people each year, helping them lead successful, healthy lives by staying in school, off drugs and away from gangs and violence.
The Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge™️ is an annual challenge that hundreds of people take throughout Southern California. In the course of the challenge, they will hike six challenging and progressively higher SoCal mountains:
- Mt Wilson
- Cucamonga Peak
- Mt San Antonio (aka Mt Baldy)
- San Bernardino Peak
- Mt San Jacinto
- San Gorgonio Peak
Over the course of this challenge, they will hike over 82 miles and climb over 80,000 vertical feet. Some do it for bragging rights. Others do it to train for even bigger hikes like Mt Whitney or the John Muir Trail. But everyone who finishes can say they've done what few can claim -- they completed the Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge.
This is the third year of our challenge, and also our third year supporting Big City Mountaineers.
