2017 5K for Koinonia
EVENT DATE: May 27, 2017
The 5K is an important part of Koinonia’s “annual income”. The money we raise will go to general operating, maintenance and projects. Koinonia is growing and we are always looking for ways to increase our hospitality and guest services. The last few months have been very exciting at Koinonia!
- Our bookings are the highest in five years
- 2017 Day Camp is expected to increase by 30%
- Priorities for improvements have been established
Our roads, buildings, Chapel in the Pines and heating/cooling system in the Conference Center all need heavy work. We purchased a new truck in 2017. The truck was a necessity as it provides safety for our guests during winter months and programming needs such as hayrides. We are working to raise money for a Pole Barn at the site of the former Farm House. Koinonia needs this additional year-round safe space and activity center for Day Camp, Environmental Education groups, Congregations and other events. We will clean up the basketball area and add more outdoor activities in and around Jubilee Field. Staffing and daily operations income is essential to the growth of Koinonia.
We have set a goal of $50,000 for the 3rd Annual 5K for Koinonia. This is $20,000 more than last year, but since we have the projects identified, we are hoping you will join us in being brave, and that you will give courageously!
As with the young boy in the feeding of the five thousand, we need to give freely in our own offering of the loaves and fish that will sustain and empower the mission and vision of Koinonia.
Not only is this 5K event a blessing to Koinonia, but it is also an opportunity to enjoy the place we all love.
