BENEFITING: SUSAN G KOMEN MINNESOTA
EVENT DATE: May 14, 2017
Most of you know my story. When I was 35 years old, because of family history with breast cancer, my doctor suggested I have my first mammogram. I was diagnosed with Stage II lobular carcinoma just days after my 36th birthday. With full support of my family and friends, I went through a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. That was 18 years ago. I feel grateful to be healthy and active during my years as a breast cancer survivor.
Why I'm asking for your support...
I participate in and fundraise for Komen Twin Cities Race for the Cure to give back -- in honor of my family and friends who supported me during those difficult times. Please consider making a donation -- every dollar makes a difference! Your donation provides women and men in Minnesota with services that have literally saved lives. A donation of $25 could provide the cost of patient transportation to a treatment appointment; $50 could pay for a clinical breast exam; $100 could provide the cost of a lifesaving mammogram. You CAN make a difference!
Up to 75 percent of net proceeds are used for local programs like those listed above, with 25 percent used to fund breast cancer research.
Thanks and blessings to you all!
