This year I am trading in my wheels for a pair of running shoes! I have decided to step away from my annual participation in a bike ride to find a passion for running again. As many of you may know, I had lower leg surgery for Compartment Sydrome back in the spring of 2013. This was not a fun process to go through and has kept me away from hitting the ground running due to the many side effects I suffered. Also, the fear of regaining those side effects, even after surgery on both of my legs, is something that did not disappear overnight. But this year is the year! I will be embarking on a journey to run the 2017 Falmouth Road Race for the AMAZING organization I work for, The Sports Museum. So as I work hard and train for the 7 mile race, please support my fundraising efforts and help me pass my $1,200 fundraising goal!!
This year, The Sports Museum's philanthropic efforts will align with all their running teams, and be dedicated to their award-winning educational program that leverages the power and example of Boston sports to help stop bullying in our schools and in our community, Boston vs. Bullies. Boston vs. Bullies is an educational program that is provided to schools and organizations across Massachusetts free of charge. The video-based program features current athletes from all of Boston’s sports teams and provides kids with practical guidance, strategies and options grounded in the latest anti-bullying research. Since the full rollout began in Fall 2013, Boston vs. Bullies has impacted more than 48,000 students (grades 5-6), 1,000 teachers and 215 schools and organizations.
Thank you for supporting The Sports Museum 2017 Falmouth Road Race Team.
Let’s win this one together!
