EVENT: Tour de Fresh Events
EVENT DATE: Jul 25, 2017
Who doesn't want our nation's children to eat more fruits and vegetables? We hear so much about what not to eat but how can provide more proactive messages on what and how to eat better? Tour de Fresh does this. I am so honored to be riding for the third year in a row. We raise money that DIRECTLY funds the purchase of salad bars for schools- the first-of-its-kind, collaborative event that unites the most significant brands and influencers in the fresh produce industry for a three-day cycling event that raises funds to benefit the national Salad Bars to Schools initiative.
The Salad Bars to Schools initiative has helped provide salad bars to over 5,000 schools benefitting 3 million children. Tour de Fresh is a leading supporter of this national movement, working closely with the United Fresh Start Foundation to provide salad bars to schools as a strategy for increasing children’s access to fresh fruits and vegetables every day at school.
The goal of the 2017 Tour de Fresh and its participants is privately finance 50+ new salad bars in school districts across the country. At a cost of approximately $3,000 per salad bar per school, this is a small investment that makes a BIG impact. Since 2014, Tour de Fresh has raised over $400,000 to provide salad bars to schools across the United States!
Please fund my ride and you will directly contribute to the purchase of a salad bar. I will send you great updates along he way and incorporate your company logo or name onto my cycle jersey! -Drew
