The Story

EVENT DATE: Apr 13, 2017

DEADLINE TO GIVE: Apr 22, 2017

What's going on in the minds of Philadelphia's young people? What are their stories, their perspectives? How are they processing the world around them? From relationships with family and peers to community policing, technology, racism, sex, and mental health, Young Voices weaves 18 high school and 13 middle school monologues written by students throughout the city and region into two story-packed shows. Directed and performed by theater professionals, Young Voices takes us into the classroom, out of this world, and into areas of the city we've never known: young minds.

Check out what last year's playwrights had to say about the Festival in the video and then go to our website for more information!
