In October 2016, I started dreaming about IRONMAN. For years I've stood in the finisher's chute of countless races cheering on family members and friends as I watch them compete in all kinds of events. Every time I left one of those events, I was so inspired to do one myself, but I never really gave it a second thought, until I stumbled upon the IRONMAN website one day last year. In large bold letters written across the top of the homepage was the statement "Anything is Possible." It was that moment, when I decided to race an IRONMAN. No, I hadn't asked my parents or thought about the hours and hours of training or the costs or the sacrifices I'd have to make, all I knew was that I was doing it and I couldn't be stopped! That benign fall morning I had been mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, avoiding my physics homework and somehow ending up on the IRONMAN website stands out for me in my training so far as the moment I decided to go for it, to take a risk and to believe in myself. The true reason behind my decision to race IRONMAN is to accomplish a goal I never thought possible and to be a part of an amazing community of IRONMAN athletes who all share the same philosophy, "Anything is Possible."

Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives.
