MARCH MADNESS!!! Its here!! The FUNd raising continues.. I have $1200 togo and need to get this wrapped up! I am forming up a March See more
This journey began 2 and a half years ago...IronMan was not even close to something I had in my sights. The idea to run a 5k with a few brothers was as far ahead as I could see... It took me 6 months to achieve th goal.. Daily and diligantly, I plugged forward pushing the goal a little further as progress was made, meeting new friends and key motivators along the way. There were victories and what felt like defeats through several injuries and setbacks.. Each time I would get support and encouragement through those people I have met along the way. Some of these great folks were completely random and sent by God into my life. I would not be at this point now if it weren't for the push they have given me when I was just sitting back in cruise controll. The support and encouragement of my wife has been key.. The countless hours of training to get to this point... adaptations to my random and insane routines of diet changes, 3:45am alarm clocks, late evening rides,..always late for dinner.. constant weekends at the gym pool, shrine of suppliments taking up an entire counter, living in workout clothes, growing assortment of triathalon gear, ect.. Even vacation had workout times and activities built into it. It will only get more furious as this progresses to April 28th. Instead of makeing this process of registering for a Full Iron Man race easy... I just decided to make it harder... why not? Why not accomplish my goal and help others at the same time? Just like my journey so far, which has not been without the help and encouragement of others to succeed and the goals felt unatainable. There are prople in these communities that need the same amount of love and support to work towards their goals. Team IMF is here to help. I now offer myself and all the effort I have put in to achieve this goal to compete and finnish 140.6 miles (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile run) It's a gruling endurance ultra distance Triathalon that many see as the pinnacle of Ultra Distance races. It has become a bucket list item for me..I know I can do this..The power is in each one of us to achieve what we once thought impossible. Through hard work and determination the weak will become strong and even though you fail you do not become a failure...you merely learn and become stronger until you fly! All money raised through the TEAM IMF program will benefit The IRONMAN Foundation, and specifically - the Community Fund Program. This program benefits those in the communities where IRONMAN events are held, by providing charitable support to a variety of local non-profit organizations that recognize citizens in need and provide support to the local community. Within those communities, The IRONMAN Foundation will provide grant funding opportunities to non-profit organizations, while also working with community leaders to identify projects that will benefit the community and provide funding to support those initiatives. The IRONMAN Foundation has provided funding opportunities of over $34 million dollars to numerous non-profit beneficiaries worldwide. THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION wrote - Thank you for your support in this endevor God has definately amazed me throughout this process..
