The American Red Cross of Augusta was chartered in 1917 as a unit of the American National Red Cross. The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by volunteers, that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.

Through the years, we have provided services to the citizens of 15 counties in the Augusta Area.  The chapter is guided by a Board of Directors composed of leadership volunteers. 

A staff of 4 and a volunteer force of approximately 500 people provide the programs and services to the local community. These programs and services include disaster relief, community disaster education, health and safety services, services to the armed forces, volunteer services, and youth services.
