PEDAL FOR PREVENTION
The YMCA is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals of all ages through fitness, wellness, aquatics and also spirit, mind and body programs. Just as important is the YMCA’s work to address serious health issues with chronic disease prevention and recovery programs.
The YMCA offers the following signature programs FREE to members, and at a reduced cost to non-members with support from the Annual Campaign:
• YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, a community-based lifestyle improvement program reducing the chance that those with pre-diabetes develop Type 2 diabetes
• Moving for Better Balance, a fall prevention program that uses Tai Chi to improve the balance of older adults
• LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a cancer survivor strength and recovery program offered in a supportive environment
• EnhanceFitness, a program for older adults, especially those with arthritis, to increase physical, mental and social functioning of older adults
Please join us on Saturday, April 14th at one of our 5 branch locations as we "Pedel for Prevention" to improve health and wellness and overall quality of life across Long Island.
