BENEFITING: Alzheimer's Association
A few weeks ago I lost my Uncle Eddie Gada to Lewy Body Dementia. He died after a nearly 10 year struggle with the disease. He was only 66
Lewy Body Dementia is the second most common form of dementia, Alzheimer's being the first, yet most people have never heard of it. Alzheimer's Association works to end Alzheimer's and other dementia diseases. They also work to bring comfort to those living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia like Lewy Body Disease.
Our family lost a dynamic, charismatic patriarch far too early, but it doesn't have to be that way for other families. On September 20 I will be embarking on a two day hike of Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous 48 United States (elevation 14,505'). The 21 mile hike to the summit and back covers over 6,000 vertical feet and I will be spending the night camping at 12,000 feet.
