Welcome to 24-Hour Mural Live Art!, an exciting event happening this month that will leave a mark for years to come! My name is Faith Wibberley, I am an illustrator living and working in Norwich, CT. On August 20th-21st, I will be painting a mural on the outside wall of The Spirit of Broadway Theatre in downtown Norwich for 24 hours straight!! With only necessary 15 min breaks, the mural will be started at 12pm Tues. and finished at 12pm Wed.
Norwich is 'The Rose City' and known as 'The Rose of New England.' It has had its share of hard times and I am not alone in wanting to see this city revived to its former glory. The mural will depict the 'Rose' blossoming once again as it is poured over with fresh waters from above.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Peniel Church of Norwich to grant scholarships to local youth who desire to participate in an 8-week character development program and to contribute to building a new youth center in Greenville, Norwich. Our city is full of people from all parts of the world, from all walks of life, who need the support of their community. The 24 Hour Mural-Live Art! is a kick-starter for financial support to our next generation. The mural will bring new life to a blank cement wall on the back streets in Norwich. Moreover, your support will bring new life to the young people on the back streets of Norwich.
The mural painting will be filmed from start to finish to make a time-lapse video to be posted after the event. All are welcome to come and watch during the 24-hour period at 24 Chestnut St, Norwich, CT 06360. We look forward to your company and your support!
