BENEFITING: CHALLENGE DAY
EVENT DATE: Jun 01, 2013
25 people donating $25 and inviting 25 more people... can change the world!
In honor of Challenge Day Founders Yvonne and Rich Dutra-St. John, every dollar raised by June 1st, 2013 will be matched up to $25,000.
Challenge Day is celebrating our 25th year of helping youth in schools feel safe, loved and celebrated. In that time, we've reached over a million young people. Help us reach a million more. Join us in creating a world where everyone feels safe, loved and celebrated - where bullying, violence and other forms of oppression are things of the past.
Funds raised will help us reach schools and communities who are unable to afford it, or those impacted by tragedy, to offer the love, support and care they deserve.
"If we settle for tolerance, we have failed. Our goal is love." - Rich & Yvonne, Challenge Day Founders
BULLYING IS AN EPIDEMIC
For millions of young people, bullying, violence and other forms of oppression are part of a typical school day. Every 7 minutes a child is bullied. Many students are afraid to walk down the halls for fear of being teased or humiliated. Every year 160,000 students are absent because they're afraid to come to school. Students who are bullied can suffer from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, poor concentration and tragically some see suicide as the only way out. If you really knew us, our hearts are breaking that this is still happening and we're committed to making a change.
The Challenge Day Program helps reduce teasing and bullying, teaches tools for peaceful conflict resolution and healthy self-expression, and builds empathy and compassion within the school so students can thrive. We need to reach more students across the United States and around the world to share hope, inspiration and love. With your help, we can create a world where bullying, violence and other forms of oppression are things of the past.
IT TAKES ALL OF US
While we know we don't have all the answers, we have witnessed countless miracles from teens and adults in our programs. We are blessed to do this work and be of service, and we need your support to make it happen. Stand with us in creating a world where everyone feels safe, loved and celebrated. A world where bullying, violence and other forms of oppression are things of the past. This is the work of Challenge Day.
Thank you for helping us celebrate 25 years of change!
With love and gratitude,
"Be the change you wish to see in the world." - Gandhi
