On November 1st last year I ran the NYC Marathon to honor my cousin Lara while she was battling cancer. She was so strong, a superstar, a champion and I wanted to recogize her strength and her struggle. Exactly one week after the race she passed away. This year I will be running again for Lara. This is one way I can celebrate her life and keep her memory close to me.
The Pajama Program is an organization that provides pajamas and books and reads with children in need. These children live in group homes, shelters and temporary housing facilities and are shuffled often from one place to another. Most of these children have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a parent tuck them in at bedtime with warm, clean pajamas and a bedtime story. I know Lara was a huge supporter of this organization and it speaks volumes of her personality - she was just the warmest, the cheeriest, and most selfless person I have known.
Every mile I ran last year and every mile I will run this coming November I will think of Lara as my inspiration. Each step is an affirmation that her beautiful soul is remebered, valued, and that she lives on.
Please help me remember Lara and support this wonderful nurturing organization.

Thank you for your generosity!
I plan to run to remember Lara every coming year!
