“You aspire to great things? Begin with little ones.” – St. Augustine
By my estimation, I will run exactly 292 miles between August 1 and November 6 training (and hopefully finishing) the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. What better way to make the miles matter than by making them count for a place I hold dear: Villanova University. I'm raising $2 for every training mile, and I've decided to dedicate them to support the Villanova Center for Service and Social Justice. Villanova's vocation as a Christian community calls us to work untiringly to make the world a better place. Grounded in the work of St. Thomas of Villanova, the Center serves the poor and marginalized in our world through 46 annual service trips and weekly service throughout the Philadelphia area (including at nursing homes, tutoring programs, service at homeless shelters, and soup kitchens). Service played a huge part in my experience at Villanova, and I'm happy I can make the miles count on the road and back home at Villanova!
