BENEFITING: Salvation Army World Service Office
Please help me support relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy victims with every mile I run this weekend in the NYC marathon!
As you probably know, I am crazy/lucky enough to be running 26 miles on Sunday through the streets of New York. It isn't going to be fun/easy, especially with the devastation we'll see on the streets, but knowing that you're with me each step of the way will help (cheesy, but true!).
My goal is to find 100 friends to give $1 per mile I run to benefit The Salvation Army. That's a whopping $26.2 dollars (that means less than what you'll spend at the Loon Friday night). If you want to give less, every amount counts & thank you! If you want to give more, EVEN BETTER & THANK YOU MORE! I believe in The Salvation Army and I believe in their relief efforts. They have been on the ground since day one and will continue to be there for the people of New York City and surrounding areas.
I had not intended to fundraise for this marathon - I know that we all have our commitments. This is a last-minute attempt so I understand if you're not able to join us. Still, I feel that running through the wrecked streets on Sunday will be a reminder of the destruction this hurricane caused to an amazing city. I hope to feel a little better with each step that we're doing a great thing to help.
Thanks for your consideration!
