BENEFITING: United Way of Western Connecticut Inc.
On December 14, 2012, a gun man entered Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT and took the lives of 26 beautiful souls. All women and children.
Our town has been rocked, with most of us grasping for ways to help our community heal from something this horrific. I grew up in Newtown and moved my family back to the town when I discovered I was pregnant with my first child. I moved back here because growing up I always felt that Newtown was the safest place in the world. And I, along with so many others, are trying our best regain that feeling and come through this stronger in the end.
I have been a runner all my life. And now I will run for those who can't. I pledge to run 26 different events in 2013. I will honor one victim per event. I will post a picture of each event and the child or teacher that I am running for on that particular day and you can follow my journey here: http://26in2013forsandyhook.blogspot.com/
I will pay for my own entry fees, my shoes, socks, clothing- everything. Every cent raised here will go to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund created by the United Way of Western CT.
Please help me on this journey. Your support and encouragement will mean so much to so many.
