BENEFITING: The Empowerment Plan
I know that we are all asked for donations everyday. I get it. However, especially this time of year it is a good time to really reflect how fortunate we really are. My son Michael O'Brien (age 5) has inspired my wife and I to participate in something really special. There are so many people who are not so fortunate. In every city and neighborhood, including Myrtle Beach - many people are homeless and suffering. There is a new phenomenon which started in Detroit called the Empowerment Project, and it is spreading across the country thru the charity of our hearts. Please take one minute and view this clip so you can see what is happening right across America and be part of it. We are teaming up with the Community Kitchen in Myrtle Beach for distribution to the homeless. This is real and so are the people it touches. Not some corporate tax shelter.
Please give what you can and pass this on to whoever you can.
From Lynn O'Brien (Michaels Mommy)
This fundraising project began when a friend posted a video of the Empowerment Project on Facebook. Right away I felt in my Spirit that I needed to do this for the Homeless in Myrtle Beach. Later that day I was riding in my car with my son, Michael (age 5), and was listening to bible on CD. Acts 27-28 tells the account of when Paul was being transported as a "prisoner" to Rome to face Caesar. There was a furious storm and some sailors tried to save their lives by getting off of the ship with no concern for the others on board. The boat is the "The Ship of Faith" or heaven and the ocean is the "world". Let's keep others on the ship or save them from the "Sea." It's not entirely about the coats. It's about warming these individuals souls and letting them know that God loves them.
As the coats arrive Michael, team and I will distrubte the coats and other items needed to the homeless in the Myrtle Beach area. Thank you for considering this fundraiser. God bless you all the holiday season.
We don't just get salvation from Jesus. We become Salvation. Let's continue to set the captives free.
This project is dedicated to my father and Michael's Pop Pop aka "Pop Pop Philly", John Patrick Scanlon. 04-04-1950 to 10-13-2016
