EVENT DATE: Sep 30, 2016
September 1st is my 28th birthday. I am going to run 28 miles in 28 days and collect donations for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Why are you doing this?
I want to give back.
Mental health issues have been a part of my life for many years and I've seen first hand how they can affect individuals and families. I'm no stranger to talking about mental health, but I'm at a point now where I want to give back. This cause is very close to my heart and I would really like to do something for others.
When are you doing this?
How are you tracking your miles?
I'm going to be running using the Charity Miles app. For my miles to count, I have to be logged in with an intentional run. Walks to work won't count. I will keep this event updated with my runs/struggles!
I like to run. I discovered running a few years ago after my sister Mo said "Hey want to run the turkey trot 5k with me?" a month before the race. Despite the intense muscle soreness after, I fell in love with running after that. It's been a great way to relieve stress and anxiety.
How can I donate/help?
Here is the link to the fundraising page. I'm using Crowdrise.com to help raise the funds.
My donation goal is $280 (see what I did there, 28 miles, 28 days, 28th birthday, ha, ha, get it?).
I also appreciate any running buddies, or words of motivation on my posts with this event!
So that's it!
Help me raise money as I run 28 miles in 28 days for my 28th birthday!
